Metallic Yuzen-Ori

Metallic Yuzen-Ori
Where Kyoto Yuzen Meets Nishijin Weaving

Created through an extraordinary collaboration between KAWAJUN and Yoshikawa Sensho, this collection brings together two of Kyoto's most celebrated artistic traditions.

The result is an exceptionally rare expression of Japanese

craftsmanship— seamlessly blending centuries of tradition

with contemporary architectural design.

Each design begins as an original work by a Kyoto Yuzen artist

Realized through the centuries-old techniques of Nishijin weaving

Instead of being printed onto the surface or simply woven with gold and silver yarns, fine metallic filaments are intricately woven into the textile, bringing the design to life through an innovative evolution of traditional Nishijin weaving.

The interplay of ultra-fine woven metallic threads and traditional craftsmanship creates a richly textured surface that captures and reflects light, revealing remarkable depth, brilliance, and dimensionality from every angle.

Architectural Art Panel

Inspired by KyotoYuzen

For centuries, Kyoto Yuzen artisans have believed that true beauty is achieved through the careful layering of countless delicate applications, creating richness, depth, and a sense of quiet elegance.

Master Craftsmanship

Crafted by Kyoto artisans, each Yuzen Art Panel is hand-finished and custom electroplated to transform the graceful lines of traditional kimono patterns into contemporary architectural art.

KAWAJUN translates this philosophy into contemporary architectural interiors through layered compositions of glass, woven metallic textiles, and light. These elements interact to create spaces with visual depth, subtle movement, and changing expressions throughout the day.
